Term Two sees Dannevirke High School welcome two young students from Japan.  Both students have settled in well and are making good progress.

At the time of writing, we also have students from Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and Norway studying here at Dannevirke High.  These students bring their own special contribution to life here at our school.  They are involved in Music and Sports, both within the school and out in the community, as well as attending local Youth Group gatherings each week.

Later on this month they will all travel to Rotorua as part of a school trip to learn about and see the sights ofresized__280x210_New_jap_girls_May_2 one of New Zealand’s most visited tourist cities.  Our English as a Second Language Teacher, Mr Rod Clendon, is accompanying them.  I am sure everyone who goes will enjoy themselves.  This trip gives our students an excellent opportunity to travel within our country in the company of their classmates and Dannevirke High School staff.

If you are thinking of studying in New Zealand, consider Dannevirke High School.  You will be treated as an individual and given one-on-one care and attention.  Our school and community are small – this means you will quickly become “one of us”.  What better way to learn and improve your English language skills.

Dannevirke High School takes pride in giving students the opportunity to achieve at secondary level so their choices for the future are not restricted.

Congratulations to Yiu Yeung (Jackie) Tse
Jackie was with us as an International Students from 2004 until 2007.  He then went to study Aviation Management at Massey University in Pamerston North, New Zealand.

Last week Mr Clendon, Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Roderick had the special honour of attending his Graduation Ceremony to see him awarded with a Bachelor of Aviation Management.

What a proud moment for Jackie, his parents and sister who travelled to New Zeland for the occasion and,for us.
