WELCOME TO DANNEVIRKE HIGH SCHOOL

Dannevirke High School is a co-educational secondary kura nestled beneath the Ruahine Ranges, serving as a hub within the wider Tararua District. We aim to inspire every learner to realise their academic, physical, cultural and social potential. Through rich classroom experiences, dynamic sporting and cultural involvement, opportunities to learn within and outside the classroom, we encourage students to discover their strengths and foster their passions. Our kaupapa of respect, responsibility and resilience guides daily life and the DHS Way, nurturing an inclusive learning environment.

Students are encouraged to pursue excellence, sustaining self-worth and cultivating empathy and manaakitanga. At Dannevirke High School our goal is for rangatahi to leave us as engaged, confident, actively involved, life-long learners. From Year 9 to Year 13, pathways span university preparation, vocational training and gateway experiences connecting classroom learning to careers. Supported by devoted kaiako, whānau and community partners, Dannevirke High School graduates step forward equipped to contribute meaningfully to Aotearoa and the wider world.
