Process of Enrolment for International Students

Send the completed application form PLUS copies of school reports from the previous two years.

These will then be considered by the Co-ordinator of International Students.

If your application is successful, you will be sent a Letter of Offer of Place for an International Student and an invoice for tuition and accommodation fees for one year.

The fees should then be sent to the School Bank Account (see relevant details on the 'Bank and Insurance' at the bottom of this page).

Once the school has been advised that the fees have been received, then a Letter of Confirmation of Place' and a receipt for the fees will be sent.

You may then apply for the Student Visa Permit from the New Zealand Immigration Service Office in your country.

Once the visa has been issued, please advise the Co-ordinator of International Students as to your travel plans (flight numbers, dates and whether you need to be met in Auckland and escorted to the Domestic Airport) as soon as possible.

The Co-ordinator will arrange for you to be met and escorted to Dannevirke High School on your arrival at Palmerston North Airport.

INSURANCE PROTECTION AGAINST ILLNESS OR ACCIDENT

  • An illness or accident can mean that a person may have to pay a lot of money for medical care, sometimes thousands of dollars.  Even simple things like emergency treatment for example, can be very expensive.
  • All students attending Dannevirke High School will be required to have extensive travel and medical cover.  This can be through 'Unicare' which provides extensive medical, travel and fees protection cover and which complies with the requirements of the Code of Practice.  The cost per twelve months period is approximately NZ$600.00.   Alternatively, families may arrange their own and provide proof to the school.
  • You may either arrange in your own country or you may be assisted by the Co-ordinator of International Students on your arrival at Dannevirke High School.
