Our School

Our school was founded in 1903 and has served the Dannevirke and Southern Hawkes Bay community for just on one hundred years.   We have a proud tradition of academic, sporting and cultural achievement and aim to continue that proud tradition for today's students.

Traditional school values of respect, courtesy and excellence, together with a modern curriculum, quality teaching and a knowledge of new information technology is what we offer our students as we head into the twenty-first century.

The school occupies 12.78 ha of land in the Dannevirke Borough, situated on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island.

The school campus includes classrooms, an Administration Block, a modern Gymnasium, the Lindsay Pool (a full sized swimming pool), two Computer Suites, an Assembly Hall, Music and Drama facilities, a modern Library with full ICT facilities and a comprehensive International Education Department.

The school has 4.00ha of playing fields on the "Henderson Field" and 4.36 ha of playing fields on the "Britland Field".

The school has a horticultural plot, a plantation and a holding paddock.   There is an active ongoing beautification programme and the school is renowned for its attractive grounds and environment.
