SPORT

Mauri mahi, mauri ora; mauri noho, mauri mate

(Through work comes life; through inactivity comes death)

At Dannevirke High School, we are proud to offer a wide range of sporting opportunities to our students. With the support of local sporting clubs and Sport Manawatū, students can participate and compete in a variety of codes, from social to regional and national levels.

Pride, passion, and sportsmanship are the cornerstones of our sporting ethos—values we aim to instill in every student who represents our kura.

The true success of our sports programme lies in the hands of our Sports HEROES – our volunteers.Whether it’s coaching, managing teams, refereeing, driving students, providing first aid, supporting fundraising, sharing expertise, or simply cheering from the sidelines—our volunteers are the heartbeat of school sport. We treasure and appreciate all those who have given their time—past, present, and future—to support our tamariki.
