School Transport Information
Our school, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Go Bus, provides transport services to the following areas: Awariki, Norsewood, Tataramoa, Umtaora, Oringi, Otope,Tiratu, Ormondville, Motea, Waitahora and Ruahine. This service is available to students who live at least 4.8 kilometers from the school, in accordance with Ministry eligibility criteria.
To access this service, parents must complete the required forms, and students are expected to sign a bus code of conduct before using the bus. Students must arrive at their designated pick-up point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time to ensure a smooth and timely journey. For the safety and wellbeing of all passengers, a clear set of bus rules must be followed at all times. The DHS values of respect, responsibility and resilience should be consistently demonstrated on the bus, as it is considered an extension of our school environment.
Please note: It is the legal responsibility of parents and caregivers to ensure their children are present at the designated pick-up point on time. Attendance at school is compulsory, and this remains the responsibility of the parent or caregiver regardless of whether the student uses the bus or not.
